DEFTONES, the alternative metal veterans with platinum-certified albums, recently hosted their annual ‘Dia de los Deftones’ festival at Petco Park in San Diego, CA with a headlining set on the evening of November 4th
Hailing from Sacramento, CA, the band, with their extensive musical history, treated the audience to a setlist comprising various gems from their catalog. Notably, DEFTONES performed “Xerces,” a track from “Saturday Night Wrist,” marking its first live rendition since 2010.
In addition to “Xerces,” several other songs made a triumphant return to the live stage after an absence since 2018. These included “Korea,” “Kimdracula,” “When Girls Telephone Boys,” and “Phantom Bride.” You can check out the band’s full setlist below.

After a hiatus since 2019, the event made its comeback last year and took place on November 4, 2023. The venue chosen for this year’s festival is Petco Park, situated in San Diego.
This year’s installment featured not only DEFTONES, but also an impressive lineup including 100 GECS, KNOCKED LOOSE, DOECHII, PINBACK, PIERI, RILE, and CAPRA.
Last year, DEFTONES welcomed Fred Sablan as their new bassist for their touring lineup, taking over after Sergio Vega‘s departure. Additionally, the band saw the addition of Lance Jackman as a second guitarist.
Fred Sablan marked his live debut with the band in April 2022 during the inaugural performance of the band’s spring 2022 U.S. tour, held at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon.
Sablan gained prominence as the former bassist for MARILYN MANSON, where he participated in touring and recording activities with the provocative musician from 2010 to 2014. His bass skills have also graced the music of CHELSEA WOLFE and PETER HOOK AND THE LIGHT. Notably, Sablan is a vital member of the punk-rock supergroup HEAVENS BLADE, collaborating with talents such as YOUTH CODE‘s vocalist Sara Taylor, ROB ZOMBIE‘s bassist Piggy D. (who takes on guitar duties), and SUICIDE SILENCE‘s ex-drummer Alex Lopez.
