The 2023 edition of Dia De Los Deftones, the music festival organized by DEFTONES, has been officially announced
After a hiatus since 2019, the event made its comeback last year and is scheduled to happen on November 4, 2023. The venue chosen for this year’s festival is Petco Park, situated in San Diego.
This year’s installment will feature not only the iconic alt-metal group DEFTONES but also an impressive lineup including 100 GECS, KNOCKED LOOSE, DOECHII, PINBACK, PIERI, RILE, and CAPRA.
For those eager to attend, ticket sales will commence on Friday, August 18 at 10 a.m. PT through Ticketmaster.com. Fans of DEFTONES can take advantage of the pre-sale starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT, which provides access to the band’s exclusive VIP package.

In the previous year, DEFTONES welcomed Fred Sablan as their new bassist for their touring lineup, taking over after Sergio Vega‘s departure. Additionally, the band saw the addition of Lance Jackman as a second guitarist.
Fred Sablan marked his live debut with the band in April 2022 during the inaugural performance of the band’s spring 2022 U.S. tour, held at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon.
Sablan gained prominence as the former bassist for MARILYN MANSON, where he participated in touring and recording activities with the provocative musician from 2010 to 2014. His bass skills have also graced the music of CHELSEA WOLFE and PETER HOOK AND THE LIGHT. Notably, Sablan is a vital member of the punk-rock supergroup HEAVENS BLADE, collaborating with talents such as YOUTH CODE‘s vocalist Sara Taylor, ROB ZOMBIE‘s bassist Piggy D. (who takes on guitar duties), and SUICIDE SILENCE‘s ex-drummer Alex Lopez.
On the other hand, Sergio Vega, who officially joined the group in 2009, confirmed his departure in March 2022. His exit came shortly after an image of the band surfaced online, featuring the group without him, leading to speculation on various digital platforms. Vega addressed his exit in an Instagram video, outlining the contractual disagreements that led to the separation from the band’s core members.
Meanwhile, Lance Jackman‘s musical endeavors have been most recognized through his involvement with Sacramento-based bands EIGHTFOURSEVEN, HORSENECK, and WILL HAVEN.
