ZZ TOP, known as “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” has been a rock, blues, and boogie force for over half a century, enchanting devoted fans on stage and in the studio. Recognized worldwide for their distinctive beards, hotrod cars, spinning guitars, and the iconic magic keychain, ZZ TOP‘s legacy transcends geographical and language barriers.

ZZ TOP‘s origins date back to 1969 in Houston when the band formed from the fusion of two rival groups, Billy Gibbons‘s MOVING SIDEWALKS and Frank Beard and Dusty Hill‘s AMERICAN BLUES. Their 1973 album, “Tres Hombres,” propelled them to national stardom with the hit “La Grange,” which remains a signature piece in their repertoire. “Eliminator,” released in 1983, marked a turning point for ZZ TOP, blending their roots blues with high-tech-age elements, notably showcased in tracks like “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs” on MTV. This album was among the first to achieve diamond certification, with sales exceeding 10 million units.

As a touring powerhouse, they’ve delighted millions of fans across four continents over the last five decades and have been the subject of a Grammy-nominated documentary titled “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas.” The band’s original lineup, featuring bearded Gibbons and Hill and clean-shaven Beard, remained intact for more than 50 years. Elwood Francis joined the band in Dusty‘s absence during the summer of 2021 and continues to handle bass guitar duties for the band.

The enduring appeal of ZZ TOP can be attributed to their commitment to “Tone, Taste, and Tenacity.” As authentic roots performers, their influences span from the originators of the genre, such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Jimmy Reed, to British blues rockers and Jimi Hendrix, who shaped the sound generations before ZZ TOP‘s rise.

With hundreds of millions of records sold, official recognition as Heroes Of The State Of Texas, induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and numerous references in cartoons and sitcoms, ZZ TOP is a true rock icon that continues to do what they’ve always done.

As LYNYRD SKYNYRD celebrates the 50th anniversary of their debut album “Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd,” their music resonates as deeply with a multi-generational fan base today as it did when they emerged from Jacksonville, Florida, in 1973. Few bands have had as profound an impact in shaping a lifestyle as SKYNYRD.

The band continues to honor their legacy, paying tribute to all those who have contributed to the lives of millions of fans worldwide. Former members like Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, Ed King, Billy Powell, Bob Burns, and Leon Wilkeson, among others, have left a lasting mark on the band’s colorful history. Today, LYNYRD SKYNYRD continues to rock with a current lineup featuring Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Damon Johnson, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Keith Christopher, Peter Keys, Carol Chase, and Stacy Michelle.

This rock and roll powerhouse maintains an ongoing tour, embracing the legacy of LYNYRD SKYNYRD and what it represents to their devoted fans. Johnny Van Zant expresses the sentiment, “It’s about the legacy of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there, playing a great show with SKYNYRD, and seeing people love this music.”

With a catalog of over 60 albums, billions of streams, and tens of millions of records sold, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, as Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers, remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.
