DJ Sid Wilson‘s new mask retains the gas mask theme but features a more streamlined and futuristic design. Perhaps it reflects the evolution of his stage persona and DJ skills over the years.

Guitarist Jim Root‘s new mask appears to be a further descent into darkness from his “Vol. 3” iteration, maintaining the sinister “diamond eyes” visual. The exposed teeth are more pronounced, and the overall design evokes a sense of feral aggression. This aligns with the band’s statement about revisiting the raw energy of their early days.

Guitarist Mick Thomson remains as menacing as ever with his mask, which hasn’t changed tremendously over the years, yet why should an image so terrifying and effective need to? Personally, I still find Mick‘s mask the most menacing and nightmarish.

Percussionsist and cofounder Shawn “Clown” Crahan‘s new mask remains shrouded in some mystery, with very few photos surfacing online. Based on the image, it appears to be a variation of his west German gas mask from the self-titled era, featuring burn marks and a more minimal amount of hair. This could be a nod to the band’s early struggles and the relentless fire that continues to burn within them. It’s also just unsettling to say the least. I mean…. it’s a clown after all.

The band’s additions within the last 25 years

Drummer Eloy Casagrande who’s identity within the band has quite possibly been one of the worst kept secrets in modern metal has now been officially confirmed as SLIPKNOT‘s new drummer. Having only played a handful of shows thus far with the group, Casagrande has shown absolute power and ferocity behind the drum kit with a mask that dawns simplicity with a hole located in the forehead and what appears to be the menacing image of blood streaks running from the eyes.

Does this signify a bullet wound? It remans unclear, but the crypticism behind it’s look is something that should almost be expected from SLIPKNOT at this point.

Bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella‘s mask seems to maintain it’s aura of shattered gore yet intricate elegance in it’s own half-hacked way, which works wonderfully for the mysterious bass player. The hulking four-stringer maintains an incredible job of causing unease, yet sincere power with his aura and unsettling mask.

Michael Pfaff – The onetime “Tortilla Man” percussionist now seems to dawn a slim, almost devil like mask of pure white with long, vertical slits for eyes. Think of a cross between a cenobite from Clive Barker‘s “Hellraiser” and the namesake from “The Slender Man” mythology. Creepy yet so effective.

Keyboardist Craig Jones’ replacement– Still unconfirmed at this point, yet the band’s new keyboardist is no less menacing. Gone are Jones‘s protruding head spikes as we are now faced with a shattered, white look of sheer menace and zipper like teeth.

Numerous fans speculate that Jones‘ replacement could be none other than Jeff Karnowski, who played bass in “Clown“‘s previous band DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS prior to Crahan forming SLIPKNOT. Yet that remains to be officially confirmed.
