TESTAMENT and KREATOR have announced the ‘Klash Of The Titans’ North American tour with POSSESSED
This fall, the “Klash Of The Titans” makes its triumphant return to North America. Fans will enjoy an epic night of metal with thrash royalty TESTAMENT and KREATOR co-headlining the run.
The 33-date trek will kick off on September 12 in Reno making its way across the U.S. and will include seven Canadian dates before concluding in San Francisco on October 27. Joining the night are special guests Bay Area death metal pioneers and labelmates POSSESSED.
TESTAMENT states: “Get ready North America. We are looking forward to a co-headline tour with our thrash master friends KREATOR. This is gonna be a madhouse of a show with our Bay Area homies POSSESSED opening the show so get there early. TESTAMENT will be performing an old-school set celebrating the re-release of ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’.”

Rising from the fertile Bay Area thrash metal scene in the 1980s, TESTAMENT carved their niche with a sound both ferocious and fiercely melodic. Originally formed under the name LEGACY, the band solidified their lineup with vocalist Chuck Billy and lead guitarist Alex Skolnick alongside rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, the band’s sole constant member.
TESTAMENT unleashed a torrent of critically acclaimed albums like “The Legacy” and “Practice What You Preach,” establishing them as thrash titans alongside METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH. Their music tackled social issues and dark themes, delivered with Billy‘s distinct growl and Skolnick‘s soaring guitar solos woven into Peterson‘s punishing riffs.
Despite lineup changes, TESTAMENT never strayed from their sonic identity. They weathered the decline of thrash in the 90s, returning with renewed vigor in the 2000s. Albums like “Dark Roots of Earth” showcased their growth while retaining their signature aggression. Today, TESTAMENT continues to be a force, touring globally and delivering punishing live shows that solidify their place as thrash metal royalty.
KREATOR emerged from the German thrash metal scene in the mid-1980s, becoming a cornerstone of the Teutonic thrash movement. Fronted by the iconic vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mille Petrozza, KREATOR distinguished themselves with a raw, aggressive attack and politically charged lyrics.
Their early albums, like “Endless Pain” and “Pleasure to Kill,” established their sound – pummeling drums, Petrozza‘s venomous rasp, and lead guitarist Jutta Weinhold‘s scorching riffs. The band explored darker themes, delving into social and political turmoil alongside mythological and anti-religious narratives.
Throughout the ’90s, KREATOR experimented with industrial and black metal influences, dividing some fans but showcasing their artistic evolution. Albums like “Coma of Souls” and “Renewal” reflected this shift while retaining their signature thrash foundation. Despite lineup changes, the band never lost their intensity.
Today, KREATOR remains a major force in metal, consistently releasing critically acclaimed albums like “Phantom Antichrist” and “Hate Über Alles.” Their relentless live shows solidify their reputation as thrash metal veterans, ensuring their legacy continues to inspire generations of headbangers.
POSSESSED rose from the ashes of the San Francisco Bay Area thrash scene in the early 1980s, not to replicate, but to redefine. Pioneering a sound later dubbed “death metal,” the band injected a dose of pure sonic savagery and dark lyrical themes into the burgeoning metal landscape.
Led by vocalist/bassist Jeff Becerra with his guttural growl unlike anything heard before, and guitarist Mike Torrao‘s viciously fast riffs, POSSESSED conjured a brutal atmosphere unmatched at the time. Their demo “Death Metal” (1984) became a blueprint for the genre, influencing countless bands.
Landmark albums like “Seven Churches” (1985) and “Beyond the Gates” (1986) solidified their legacy. The music delved into demonic possession, blasphemy, and the occult, a stark contrast to the more socially conscious themes prevalent in thrash.
