On January 3, ZAKK SABBATH, the renowned BLACK SABBATH cover band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (known for his work with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE, and PANTERA), bassist John “JD” DeServio (from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), and drummer Joey Castillo (formerly of DANZIG and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE), took the stage at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, Maryland. The current “Tour Forever / Forever Tour” by ZAKK SABBATH kicked off on December 5 in Sacramento, California, and is scheduled to conclude on January 20, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. Support for this tour is provided by THE NATIVE HOWL. ZAKK SABBATH has been delighting audiences with sporadic performances since 2014, presenting their take on the early songs of the iconic Birmingham four.

“As soon as I hear the intro tape that starts the show, I feel like I’m 15 years old again. It’s just the power of music — it transports you right back to where you were when you first started listening to this stuff.”

“I just laugh because I’m 56 years old, and I’m up there playing ‘Snowblind’ and ‘Into The Void’ like I did at backyard keg parties with high school friends,” Zakk told News-Herald. “It’s pretty awesome. Every time we do one of these runs, I always say these songs are so incredible.

Since 2014, ZAKK SABBATH has been treating audiences to intermittent performances, presenting their unique interpretations of the early songs from the legendary Birmingham quartet.

In September 2020, ZAKK SABBATH paid a spectacular tribute to the Birmingham four by delivering a faithful yet energized rendition of BLACK SABBATH‘s inaugural album, released via Magnetic Eye Records.

Exactly 50 years after the original album’s release, ZAKK SABBATH commemorated this pivotal chapter in the BLACK SABBATH catalog with a meticulously crafted tribute titled “Vertigo.” Recorded live in the studio and documented by a film crew, the session resulted in a revitalized version of the landmark album, celebrating the legacy of the greatest heavy metal band and the record that marked the beginning of an era.
