California’s humorous glam metal outfit, STEEL PANTHER, has released a new music video for “On Your Instagram,” aiming to shed light on the deceptive nature of online personas
The video aligns with the song’s message, featured on STEEL PANTHER‘s latest album, “On The Prowl,” and highlights the negative impact of the Instagram age, saturated with fake personas and heavily filtered photos, further exacerbated by the Artificial Intelligence (AI) trend.
Directed by J.T. Arbogast, the video portrays the realization of two social media influencers’ assistants as they confront the fabricated realities they perpetuate for their bosses. Their decision to embrace authenticity leads to the unraveling of the influencers’ worlds. The band, consisting of Michael Starr (lead vocals), Satchel (lead guitar), Spyder (bass), and Stix Zadinia (drums), performs the poignant song in an arcade while reflecting on the prevalent use of image-altering filters and false presentations.
Last month, STEEL PANTHER unveiled a holiday tour in support of their latest album. The “On The Prowl Winter Holidaze” tour, beginning this December, promises to entertain audiences across 12 cities. It commences on December 1 in Cleveland, Ohio and concludes in St. Louis, Missouri on December 17, with stops in Flint, Michigan (December 5), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (December 10), and Louisville, Kentucky (December 16), among others. Joining STEEL PANTHER to spread some holiday cheer are Seattle rockers MOON FEVER.
In August, STEEL PANTHER participated in season 18 of the reality TV talent competition series “America’s Got Talent.” Their performance of the classic song “Death To All But Metal” from the 2009 “Feel the Steel” album showcased their humorous style, though they made some adjustments to the lyrics to fit the primetime NBC broadcast.
STEEL PANTHER‘s sixth studio album, “On The Prowl,” was released in February. Additionally, in September 2022, the band announced Spyder as their new bassist.
