SIX FEET UNDER is a prominent death metal band known for their brutal and unrelenting sound. Formed in 1993 by Barnes, the band has undergone several lineup changes throughout its history while consistently delivering a relentless and uncompromising style of death metal.

The band’s debut album, “Haunted,” was released in 1995 and showcased their penchant for dark and macabre lyrical themes, which would become a signature of their music. “Haunted” featured distorted, guttural vocals from Barnes, whose distinctive growls had already gained recognition during his time with CANNIBAL CORPSE.

Over the years, SIX FEET UNDER released a series of albums that solidified their place in the death metal scene. These albums included “Warpath” (1997), “Maximum Violence” (1999), and “True Carnage” (2001), each contributing to the band’s growing reputation for brutality and intensity.

In 2004, Barnes briefly departed from SIX FEET UNDER, and the band enlisted the services of Kyle Symons as his replacement. During this period, they released albums like “13” (2005) and “Commandment” (2007). However, in 2008, Barnes returned to the fold, marking his comeback with the album “Death Rituals” (2008).

SIX FEET UNDER continued to evolve their sound over the years, incorporating elements of groove and thrash metal into their music. This evolution was evident in albums such as “Graveyard Classics III” (2010), where they covered classic songs by bands like AC/DC and THIN LIZZY.

In addition to their studio albums, SIX FEET UNDER has maintained a strong presence in the live music circuit, performing at numerous festivals and headlining tours worldwide.

Through their long and influential career, the band has remained a force in the death metal genre, consistently delivering heavy and aggressive music that appeals to fans of extreme metal. Their dedication to the genre and their distinctive style have earned them a dedicated following and a lasting legacy in the world of death metal.
