SIX FEET UNDER are now streaming their brutal new single “Know Nothing Ingrate” from the forthcoming album “Killing For Revenge”
SIX FEET UNDER will be releasing their forthcoming LP “Killing For Revenge” on May 10 via Metal Blade Records, and the first single, called “Know-Nothing Ingrate“, can be heard it all it’s brutal glory below.
“I chose the title Killing For Revenge after we completed writing and noticed that all the lyrics and storylines had a common theme of revenge. Revenge by human or revenge by nature,” says frontman Chris Barnes. “The album title describes the flow of the stories within the lyrics perfectly.”
“Killing For Revenge” marks the second album that Barnes and his former CANNIBAL CORPSE bandmate, guitarist Jack Owen, have released together since reuniting for 2020’s “Nightmares Of The Decomposed“. Owen also acted as the album’s producer.
Chris Barnes says: “We worked well together in Cannibal Corpse. I loved him to death as a friend and a musician, so I’m really comfortable giving him the reins because I just have such great respect for him as an artist.”
“This music was written early in the writing process,” says Owen. “Wanting to keep the aggression of a prior Six Feet Under song like ‘Amputator,’ I wrote music in the style of early Dark Angel or Kreator, who always had cool driving drumbeats. I had all the riffs in my head as I wrote the drums in a couple hours.
“Lyrically, I kicked around a phrase that fit the stop parts throughout the song. After coming up with ‘Know Nothing Ingrate,’ the lyrics wrote themselves. It’s basically about online trolls who voice their uneducated and unnecessarily spiteful review of any artist’s output. You’re entitled to your opinion, and I’m entitled to mine.”
Back in September, Barnes posted the following on social media: “Probably won’t be able to sleep tonight .. I start recording vocals for the New SIX FEET UNDER Album tomorrow!!! Some of the most intense songs we’ve done. Super excited for this one!”
In August of last year, Chris said that Jeff Hughell had finished recording the bass parts for the new SIX FEET UNDER LP. Jeff “did an AMAZING job on these new Songs!” Chris wrote. “Can’t wait for you to all hear this Album .. it’s a Ripper!!!”

Locke‘s artistic prowess is well-known, his evocative and sometimes controversial work having become a staple of death metal’s visual landscape. Notably, his enduring partnership with CANNIBAL CORPSE, which featured current SIX FEET UNDER frontman Chris Barnes from 1988 to 1995, has left an indelible mark on the genre.
SIX FEET UNDER‘s previous offering, their 17th full-length album titled “Nightmares Of The Decomposed,” hit the shelves in October 2020 via Metal Blade Records.
Featuring 12 tracks, “Nightmares Of The Decomposed” was recorded at various studios, including the esteemed Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida, which has hosted legendary acts like AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH, and AEROSMITH. Chris Carroll took the reins as producer, engineer, and mixer, with mastering handled by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver, Colorado. The album’s visual presentation was curated by Luke Hunter.
