Brian “Head” Welch has exciting news for fans as he hints at the possibility of new music from KORN in the upcoming year

The 53-year-old guitarist shared a potential timeline for KORN‘s next release following their 2022 album “Requiem” during his recent appearance on “The Joe Kingdom Perspective” podcast.

Discussing KORN‘s current status, Welch said: “Yeah, [there will be] new music coming out next year. I don’t know. We’re just kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing.”

Brian — who rejoined KORN a decade ago after an eight year absence — added that there will possibly be “a celebration” of the 30th anniversary of KORN‘s debut album in 2024.

“It’s just crazy how the Lord just restored everything,” he said. “A couple of members are on break too, and I took — or one’s out of the band, but one’s on break. And it’s just — it’s all good. I mean, I was gone almost a decade, and I came back. I’ve been back a decade. So you just never know what’s gonna happen.”

In June 2021, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu made a significant announcement that he would be taking a break from KORN‘s tour to focus on “healing” from some of his “negative habits.” In his absence, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Roberto “Ra” Díaz stepped in to fill the role.

The album “Requiem,” which dropped in February 2022, saw impressive success. Produced by Chris Collier and KORN, it made a spectacular debut, securing the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart. During the tracking week of February 4-10, 2022, the band achieved 23,000 equivalent album units in sales, with 20,000 of those units attributed to album sales. “Requiem” also made waves by reaching No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. It further made its mark on the all-encompassing Billboard 200, debuting at an impressive No. 14.

Notably, despite Fieldy‘s absence from the live performances for over two years, he was actively involved in the creation of “Requiem,” contributing to the album’s sound and composition.
