The iconic alternative rock powerhouse, HELMET, has unleashed the official music video for their track “Big Shot”
This song is a standout from their latest studio album, “Left,” hitting the airwaves today (Friday, November 10) via earMUSIC.
Known for their groundbreaking sound and intense live performances, HELMET returns after the widely praised “Dead To The World” in 2016, offering their trademark blend of heavy, riff-driven rock accompanied by evocative, impactful lyrics that have resonated with fans globally for more than three decades.
In “Left,” HELMET—featuring frontman Page Hamilton, drummer Kyle Stevenson, guitarist Dan Beeman, and bassist Dave Case—craft a musical landscape that’s tense, robust, and straightforward. Hamilton‘s lead guitar work crackles like live wires and erupts akin to shortwave radios encountering sudden malfunctions. Each drum strike hits like a shot, every solo seemingly an embodiment of untamed energy.
Guided by Hamilton alongside co-producers Jim Kaufman and Mark Renk, and mastered by Howie Weinberg, the 11 tracks on the new album exhibit a more concise and aggressive execution than their previous sonic confrontations. “Left” is a testament to unrestrained determination, a revitalized purpose, and an ambition to pioneer new musical dialects within the landscape crafted by Hamilton’s distinctive use of drop-D tuning.
Coinciding with the release of “Left,” HELMET has embarked on a European tour, making their presence felt across Germany, Scandinavia, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, culminating in London, United Kingdom, on December 13.
