MÖTLEY CRÜE Unleashes New Song “Dogs Of War” Live for the First Time in Atlantic City!

Hairspray fumes and fist pumps filled the air at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Friday night (May 3rd) as MÖTLEY CRÜE unleashed their brand new single, “Dogs Of War,” live for the first time ever. This marked the legendary band’s explosive return to the stage in 2024, kicking off a two-night residency at the venue.

But the fireworks didn’t stop there! MÖTLEY CRÜE blasted through a 16-song set, packing in classic anthems alongside a few surprises. Fans got their fill of cover songs during the set as well in the form of tunes like “Smokin’ In The Boys Room” (originally by BROWNSVILLE STATION) and “Blitzkrieg Bop” (RAMONES), along with the punk anthem “Anarchy In The U.K.” (SEX PISTOLS). And for a real treat, they pulled out their new cover of “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)” (BEASTIE BOYS), recorded with longtime producer Bob Rock last year (stay tuned for that official release!).

Speaking of new music, “Dogs Of War” – available now via MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s new partnership with Nashville’s Big Machine Records – is a scorcher that frontman Vince Neil describes as “old school meets new school.” “It’s got that classic Crüe vibe, but it’s fresh and exciting,” says Neil. “Nikki [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] wrote it, and I knew it was something special. We got in the studio and the song just came together. I think the fans are gonna love it!”

This new deal with Big Machine reunites the band with the label behind the 2014 country tribute album “Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe,” featuring covers by Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, and Darius Rucker. Big Machine also partnered with MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist John 5 for his 2021 solo album “Sinner.”

MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s last studio album of original material was 2008’s “Saints Of Los Angeles,” followed by a greatest hits compilation in 2009. However, the band kept the rock n’ roll spirit alive in 2018 by recording four new songs for their biopic “The Dirt,” including the Machine Gun Kelly collaboration “The Dirt (Est. 1981)“. They even put their own spin on Madonna‘s “Like A Virgin” for the film!

With John 5 now shredding alongside Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee as original guitarist MICK MARS‘ replacement (who announced in fall 2022 that he would be stepping down from touring duties due to health concerns), MÖTLEY CRÜE seems to be firing on all cylinders.

At least according to some fans, while others stay true to the belief that the band simply isn’t MÖTLEY CRÜE without Mick Mars playing guitar in the group. Other recent accusations have arisen of A.I. being heavily used on the the band’s new material coupled with claims of the group (particularly bassist Nikki Sixx) not actually playing their instruments during live performances.

But you can watch the fan-filmed video below and judge for yourself. Say what you will but it seems like MÖTLEY CRÜE ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. I mean, even if they decided to announce a “farewell tour”, complete with the signing of a “cessation of touring agreement”, they could just simply blow it up amidst a press conference publicity stunt…..again.
