Unveiling their latest single, “Spotlight,” FOZZY presents its official music video, available for viewing below
The track, launched just last week through Madison Records/The Orchard, encapsulates the band’s dynamic showmanship, spearheaded by frontman Chris Jericho, and enriched by the musical prowess of guitar virtuoso Rich Ward. With a career spanning over two decades, FOZZY has consistently defied boundaries, both in terms of sound and artistry.
From a whirlwind trio of concerts held across the United States in a single day to shooting a music video on one of the world’s fastest and most exhilarating roller coasters, FOZZY has a longstanding reputation for pushing creative limits. This reputation is upheld with their latest release, “Spotlight,” and its accompanying music video.
Renowned for their innovative and imaginative music videos, “Spotlight” is no exception in the FOZZY repertoire. Produced by Exceleration Media and Firefly Drone Shows, this groundbreaking video showcases a stunning spectacle featuring hundreds of live drones illuminating the night sky, becoming integral performers in the world’s first drone show music video. The visual and auditory experience is an all-encompassing assault on the senses, as Chris Jericho fearlessly engages with the elements. To realize the immense undertaking of the night-flying drone performance, FOZZY‘s creative team partnered with Firefly Drone Shows, known for their leadership in drone light show innovation.
Ryan Sigmon, co-founder of the company, explains the concept, stating, “Our aim was to create an exhilarating drone performance that mirrors the ‘Spotlight‘ lyrics and positions the drone show directly behind Chris Jericho. The end result is an electrifying music video that required months of meticulous planning and programming to bring to life.”
Ward says: “When we came up with the concept of doing a drone show video, we knew the only person who could pull this off was Chris. Who else could conduct hundreds of drones to streak through the sky while creating images 800 feet tall and over 1000 feet wide? Bringing a music video concept to life, especially one that has never been pulled off before, can be challenging because of the multitude number of unknowns. With that said, it was completely worth the challenge and we hope you enjoy ‘Spotlight’ as much as we enjoyed making it!”
“Spotlight” was masterminded by FOZZY‘s longstanding producer, Johnny Andrews (notable for his work with THREE DAYS GRACE, ALL THAT REMAINS, HALESTORM), and polished to perfection by mixer Jacob Hanson (known for his work with VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, ARCH ENEMY). The track embodies the evolution of the band’s sound, blending rock and metal with compelling emotion and musical potency, exemplifying their unwavering commitment to rock supremacy.
