Doro, the renowned German metal icon, has a special New Year’s surprise in store for her fans as she announces the digital launch of her rendition of METALLICA’s timeless classic, “The Four Horsemen”
This captivating track is set to be part of her upcoming digital EP titled “Conqueress – Extended,” slated for release on March 1.
Initially featured on the physical editions of her latest studio album, “Conqueress – Forever Strong And Proud,” released in October, Doro‘s cover of “The Four Horsemen” is a standout addition to her musical repertoire. The full-length album, comprising 20 songs, is described in a press release as a testament to Doro’s exceptional creativity, with the singer and songwriter immersing herself in studios across Miami, New York, and Hamburg.
“Time For Justice,” the inaugural single from “Conqueress – Forever Strong And Proud,” was unveiled last June, accompanied by a “Mad Max”-inspired music video directed by Mirko Witzki. The album made its debut just a day before Doro’s grand 40th-anniversary concert held at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf, Germany, solidifying her stature at the pinnacle of her creative prowess.
Doro comments: “METALLICA‘s debut album, ‘Kill ‘Em All’, has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. I can still remember the first shows we played together in Europe in the mid-’80s. The METALLICA guys (back then with Cliff Burton) were just great and we quickly became friends. There was a very special spirit of optimism in the metal scene that I like to remember. That’s why I re-recorded ‘The Four Horsemen’, one of the early METALLICA classics. I still love the song.”
