Feed. Kill. Repeat.’

Anders Colsefni, the original singer of SLIPKNOT, has revisited and re-recorded an updated version of “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.”

This album holds historical importance as it laid the foundation for SLIPKNOT‘s journey from the underground metal scene in Iowa to becoming one of the most influential and successful metal bands worldwide.

The re-recording of the album offers a unique opportunity for fans to revisit SLIPKNOT‘s early days and experience the evolution of their sound. It also provides insight into Colsefni‘s perspective on the music and his contributions to the band during its formative years.

For many fans, “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” holds sentimental value, representing a pivotal moment in Slipknot’s history. Colsefni’s involvement in this updated version adds an extra layer of authenticity and nostalgia to the project.

Overall, this news is likely to generate excitement among Slipknot fans, offering them a chance to rediscover the band’s roots and appreciate the journey that led them to become the iconic metal powerhouse they are today.

In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NETAnders says: “This record is dedicated to [late SLIPKNOT members] Joey [Jordison] and Paul [Gray], my eternal brothers. This project completes their legacy for the original Crowz. This important part of their heritage can now be heard by the Maggot generation of the ‘KNOT family. I miss them both deeply every day and I hope that this tribute to them honors their memory and our ever-lasting friendship. Long live the ‘KNOT.”

On Halloween 1996, 600 copies of “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” emerged, becoming a legendary artifact over the span of 25 years. Despite countless bootlegs circulating, the album remained elusive, absent from official streaming platforms.

Before the era of Maggots, there were Crowz, whose anticipation for this record’s re-release has spanned half their lives. Finally, the moment they’ve been waiting for has arrived, marking “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” as the holy grail for original SLIPKNOT fans.

In October 2023, Colsefni joined forces with New Zealand band KAOSIS for a whirlwind two-week tour across Australia and New Zealand, aptly named “Numetal Mayhem.” KAOSIS not only served as lead support but also acted as Anders‘s backing band, performing the “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” album in its entirety. This marked the first live performance of the album since its inception in 1996, sparking the realization that the world needed this record on streaming platforms. Thus, the re-recording process commenced immediately after the tour’s conclusion.

KAOSIS took charge of recording, producing, and mixing the project in Aotearoa (New Zealand), while Anders completed the vocals in Iowa alongside his son, Junior. The resulting recording pays homage to the original while incorporating fresh arrangements.

Colsefni departed from SLIPKNOT after “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” to focus on his band, PAINFACE, which is set to reissue its back catalog and release a new EP this year.

This summer, KAOSIS and Anders will embark on a tour across Europe.

Set to debut on all streaming platforms on Friday, March 15, “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” is distributed by Blood Blast Records and Rail Records.
