MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has come under fire by Taylor Swift fans after accusing the singer of whining
This past Saturday (November 19, 2022) Sixx tweeted: “Is it just me or does Taylor Swift always seems likes she’s whining about something new every time she’s gonna drop an album? #WorIsMeMarketing”.
The post by the MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist almost immediately caused a backlash, with many of Swift’s 91.8 million followers jumping to her defense on the social media platform.
“Jeez man, you gonna call her out?,” replied one “Swifty”. “I mean your band is big and all but the wraith of the #Swifties is not something you want take on. She’s nearly doubled your record sales and she’s 1/3 of your age. Just seems petty on your end.”
“Someone go put their grandpa to bed,” wrote another fan. “But seriously, Mötley Crüe has made their entire career off of objectifying women, I really don’t wanna hear criticism from Nikki Sixx of all people on Taylor Swift.”
“It’s not like people spent thousands on her ‘retirement tour’ tickets and then she toured again,” tweeted another.
Nikki’s comments about Swift seem to stem from Taylor’s issue with Ticketmaster’s handling of the ticket sales for her upcoming tour. Upon its initial launch, technical issues arose with the ticketing giant due to overwhelming public demand. Swift released a statement regarding the matter soon after, which read: “It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”
Taylor Swift’s new album, “Midnights“, was released on October 21.
