METALLICA’s bassist, Robert Trujillo, made a special return to his former band, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, on Saturday, September 9th

This remarkable moment took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where they collaborated for a performance of the song “I Saw Your Mommy…” You can witness this fan-captured video of their onstage reunion below.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, whose current touring lineup includes Robert‘s talented 19-year-old son, Tye, on bass, graced the stage at State Farm Stadium as the supporting act for METALLICA during the latter’s rescheduled second concert in Arizona. The Mike Muir-led SUICIDAL TENDENCIES kicked off the evening in Glendale, while FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH played the middle slot, as originally planned.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd, the concert faced a postponement due to METALLICA frontman James Hetfield‘s positive COVID-19 test.

Robert Trujillo‘s journey with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES began with an invitation to join them for a European tour in 1989, where they were supporting East Coast thrashers ANTHRAX. During his tenure with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, Robert contributed to some of the band’s most acclaimed albums, including “Lights…Camera…Revolution!” (1990), “The Art Of Rebellion” (1992), and “Still Cyco After All These Years” (1993).

While working together in SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, Robert and frontman Mike Muir discovered a mutual passion for music, leading to a creative collaboration that birthed a funkier and more progressive sound. This musical venture took the form of a side project known as INFECTIOUS GROOVES. Together, they released several albums, including “The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move…” (1991), “Sarsippius’ Ark” (1993), and “Groove Family Cyco” (1994).
