ASINHELL, the latest death metal sensation, led by VOLBEAT’s iconic frontman, Michael Poulsen, has just unveiled the official lyric video for their track “Desert Of Doom”
This bone-crushing song is a sneak peek from ASINHELL‘s inaugural album, “Impii Hora,” translating to “Ungodly Hour” in Latin. Brace yourselves, as this thunderous album is set to drop on September 29th through the esteemed Metal Blade label.
With a formidable track record spanning over two decades, Michael Poulsen has been at the helm of the Danish rock and roll juggernaut, VOLBEAT. The band has unleashed a whopping eight full-length albums, amassed millions in album sales, and commanded arenas and stadiums across the globe. However, before his tenure with VOLBEAT, Poulsen was the driving force behind the death metal outfit, DOMINUS, which churned out four relentless albums in the mid-’90s.
In an intriguing twist of musical fate, while crafting songs for VOLBEAT‘s 2021 offering, “Servant Of The Mind,” Poulsen found himself brewing a stash of blistering death metal riffs, quietly storing them away on his phone. After wrapping up work on the VOLBEAT record, he dusted off these sonic treasures and embarked on the creation of “Impii Hora.” This endeavor serves as a heartfelt homage to Poulsen‘s all-time favorite old-school bands. Expect these tracks to be deeply rooted in bone-crushing riffs, yet infused with potent guitar hooks and anthemic sing-along refrains that will leave a lasting mark.
It’s worth noting that while Poulsen typically takes on the vocal duties for VOLBEAT and DOMINUS, he decided to take a different approach with ASINHELL. In March of 2022, he reached out to an old comrade, the former MORGOTH frontman, Marc Grewe, who is also associated with INSIDIOUS DISEASE. Poulsen extended the invitation to Grewe, marking the birth of a new musical alliance that promises to unleash auditory Armageddon upon the metal world.
