Check out some fan-captured video of METALLICA’s electrifying second show of the North American leg of their “M72” world tour, held on Sunday night (August 6) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, below

The “M72” tour commenced in late April in Amsterdam, and it features a unique format where the band performs two nights in each city with entirely distinct setlists and support lineups during each “No Repeat Weekend.” METALLICA has introduced an innovative in-the-round stage design for this tour, relocating their iconic Snake Pit to center stage. Additionally, they launched the “I Disappear” full-tour pass and offered discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age as part of this spectacular touring experience.

METALLICA began the second show in East Rutherford with an explosive performance of “Whiplash,” a classic track from their debut album, “Kill ‘Em All,” released in 1983. The concert’s 16-song setlist featured three new songs from their latest album, “72 Seasons“: “Lux Æterna,” “You Must Burn!,” and the debut performance of “Too Far Gone?” The “M72” tour, named after “72 Seasons,” promises an exciting series of two-night stands in cities across the globe, continuing until 2024. Notable “takeover” events will be held during weekends in major cities like New York City, Montreal, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, St. Louis, and Detroit, offering film festivals, pop-up stores, Ross Halfin book signings, tribute bands, special performances by friends and family, and more.

Exciting stuff awaits METALLICA fans, as their two-night stand at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, later this month will be livestreamed to movie theaters worldwide. This marks the band’s first appearance in Texas since November 2021 when they performed before, during, and after a Triad Combat event at Globe Life Field.

It’s worth noting that METALLICA‘s last performance at AT&T Stadium took place in June 2017, adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding their upcoming return to the venue.
