MEGADETH have been presented with Platinum and Gold records from the RIAA

Legendary thrashers MEGADETH were presented with gold and platinum records by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for platinum sales of the 1992 album “Symphony Of Destruction” on Wednesday night (August 24) in Irvine, California. The group also received gold status plaques for the 1986 album “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?” as well as 1990’s “Rust In Peace“.

The presentation ceremony took place after MEGADETH performed at the FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, California as the support act for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH.

MEGADETH and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH commenced their current run of dates on August 19 at RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington. The tour also has additional support from THE HU and FIRE FROM THE GODS.

MEGADETH‘s new album, “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!“, will arrive on September 2 via UMe. Featuring twelve new tracks, the follow-up to 2016’s “Dystopia” will be made available on CD, vinyl, and cassette, as well as digitally through all online partners. There will also be a limited deluxe edition 2LP, 12-track album pressed on 180g black vinyl housed in a numbered gatefold jacket with a 12×24 lyrics/credits insert, a lenticular vinyl lithograph and a bonus seven-inch featuring “We’ll Be Back” and the unreleased B-side “The Conjuring (Live)“. The limited deluxe edition can only be purchased via MEGADETH‘s official online store, through Sound Of Vinyl and uDiscover.

“The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” was produced by Dave Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw (DANZIG, PARKWAY DRIVE), who also worked on the band’s previous studio effort, 2016’s “Dystopia“.
