Grammy Award-winning rock band EVANESCENCE will embark on its first headline tour across Canada in 15 years this fall
Produced by Live Nation Canada, the trek kicks off on October 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia, hitting cities nationwide before wrapping on October 29 in London, Ontario. EVANESCENCE will be joined by special guests, post-grunge/metal rockers HALESTORM across all stops. Alternative sister trio THE WARNING will open all shows.
Delivering a number of dynamic rock hits over the last two decades, EVANESCENCE recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its landmark debut album, “Fallen”, originally released in 2003. They recognized the milestone with a special anniversary edition of the smash album, which spawned gigantic rock hits like “Bring Me To Life”, “Going Under” and “My Immortal”, kickstarting a thriving career they’re still carrying out today.
Tickets will be available starting with artist presale on Wednesday, April 24 at 10 a.m. local time, and additional presales running throughout the week. The general onsale will begin Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. local time on livenation.com. Emerging from the heartland of America in 1998, EVANESCENCE rose to become one of the most successful rock bands of the early 2000s. Founded by vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody in Arkansas, EVANESCENCE carved a unique sonic niche, blending elements of gothic rock, alternative metal, and classical music. Their sound was characterized by Lee’s soaring operatic vocals, Moody‘s heavy guitar riffs, and a focus on introspective lyrics exploring themes of darkness, loss, and the search for redemption.
Their debut album, “Fallen” (2003), propelled them to international stardom. Selling over 17 million copies worldwide, “Fallen” spawned iconic hits like the Grammy-winning “Bring Me to Life” and the emotionally charged ballad “My Immortal.” The album’s success was fueled by Lee‘s captivating stage presence and her ability to seamlessly weave between delicate vulnerability and raw power.
However, internal struggles within the band led to Moody‘s departure in 2003, just as they were reaching peak popularity. Undeterred, Lee took the reins, rebuilding EVANESCENCE with a revolving cast of musicians. She steered the band through a period of creative exploration, releasing albums like “The Open Door” (2006) and the self-titled “Evanescence” (2011). These albums showcased a maturing sound, incorporating electronic elements while retaining the band’s core identity.
After a hiatus in the late 2000s, EVANESCENCE re-emerged with a renewed creative spark. “Synthesis” (2016) saw them revisit their greatest hits with a lush orchestral reimagining, while “The Bitter Truth” (2021) marked a triumphant return to their original heavy sound. This critically acclaimed album showcased a band at the height of their creative power, with Lee’s vocals stronger than ever and the band delivering a potent blend of musical aggression and emotional depth.
Throughout their career, EVANESCENCE has garnered numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards and multiple MTV Video Music Awards. They’ve toured the world extensively, captivating audiences with their electrifying live performances.
