This week’s Heavy Metal News Recap video looks at SCORPIONS, who are revered as one of the most iconic and influential hard rock bands in history and are making a triumphant return to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip in 2024.
They are set to headline a sensational new residency show to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their legendary album “Love At First Sting.” This electrifying spectacle will not only feature a complete performance of the iconic album but also an array of their greatest hits. This unmissable event, “Scorpions – Love At First Sting Las Vegas,” is proudly presented by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment and is scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Bakkt Theater within the glamorous Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
This exciting addition follows the overwhelming success of the band’s previous “Sin City Nights” residency, which sold out all nine shows at the same venue in 2022.
In other exciting news, MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s exceptional guitarist, Mick Mars, has unveiled the lead single from his highly-anticipated solo debut, “The Other Side Of Mars.” The official music video for “Loyal To The Lie” is available for viewing below.
“The Other Side Of Mars” is slated for release on February 23, 2024, and fans can already pre-order the album through the newly launched merchandise storefront at this location.
Furthermore, the multi-platinum, Grammy- and American Music Award-winning rock band CREED is set to embark on their 2024 “Summer Of ’99” tour. Produced by Live Nation, this extensive 40-city tour will commence on July 17 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and will feature stops across North America, including Toronto, Nashville, Dallas, and Holmdel, among others.
Special guests 3 DOORS DOWN will serve as direct support for the majority of the North American tour, while DAUGHTRY, SWITCHFOOT, TONIC, and BIG WRECK will join the band on select dates. FINGER ELEVEN is set to open all dates on the tour.
And finally, in an exclusive interview with Loaded Radio‘s Scott Penfold, DOWN guitarist Kirk Windstein discussed the possibility of the supergroup, which includes luminaries such as PANTERA singer Philip Anselmo, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan (on guitar), EYEHATEGOD guitarist Jimmy Bower (on drums), and bassist Pat Bruders, working on new music in the near future. The band has not released any material since the “Down IV – Part Two” EP in May 2014.
