Maryland’s seasoned rock stalwarts, CLUTCH, are set to embark on the “New World Samurai Tour 2024”
This journey, supported by BLACKTOP MOJO and THE NATIVE HOWL, is scheduled to commence on April 26 in Richmond, Virginia, reaching its conclusion on May 18 in Belvidere, Illinois.

Additionally, CLUTCH‘s thirteenth studio album, titled “Sunrise On Slaughter Beach,” saw its release in September 2022. Recorded at The Magpie Cage Recording Studio in Baltimore, Maryland, the LP was crafted under the guidance of Grammy-nominated Tom Dalgety (known for his work with GHOST, ROYAL BLOOD, PIXIES), with J Robbins (JAWBREAKER, AGAINST ME!, THE SWORD) contributing to additional engineering duties.
Originating from Germantown, Maryland, CLUTCH emerged in 1991, showcasing a distinctive blend of rock, metal, and blues influences. The band’s core lineup consists of Neil Fallon (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums). Formed in high school, the members shared a passion for heavy and groove-laden music, which laid the foundation for CLUTCH‘s sound.
CLUTCH‘s early years were marked by the release of their self-titled debut album in 1995, introducing listeners to their raw and energetic approach. The subsequent albums, “Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths” (1993) and “Clutch” (1995), began to solidify their place in the underground rock scene. However, it was with the release of “The Elephant Riders” (1998) that CLUTCH started gaining wider recognition, showcasing their genre-defying sound and Neil Fallon’s distinctive lyrical style.
As the band progressed, they continued to evolve their sound, exploring blues, funk, and even elements of psychedelia. Albums like “Blast Tyrant” (2004), “Robot Hive/Exodus” (2005), and “Earth Rocker” (2013) demonstrated CLUTCH‘s ability to adapt while maintaining their trademark heaviness. Their lyrics often feature Fallon‘s storytelling prowess, delving into various themes with a mix of wit, wisdom, and humor.
With an extensive discography that includes critically acclaimed releases like “Book of Bad Decisions” (2018) and “Strange Cousins from the West” (2009), CLUTCH has sustained a dedicated fanbase.
