Drummer Charlie Benante of ANTHRAX and PANTERA, along with his enduring partner Carla Harvey from BUTCHER BABIES, have formally announced their engagement
The 61-year-old ANTHRAX drummer revealed the big news in a social media post earlier today (Sunday, January 28), sharing a picture of the couple at the Sphere in Las Vegas attending a U2 concert. He included the message: “We went to see @u2 and this happened @carlaharvey,” adding an engagement ring emoji. “they played ‘all I want is you’…”
Carla also shared the same photos to her Instagram page and commented: “it wasn’t a dream, I woke up in Vegas as the future Mrs. Benante. I love you @charbenante”.
Numerous fellow musicians went on to congratulate the couple in the comments below Charlie‘s post. NICKELBACK bassist Mike Kroeger wrote: “Congratulations you two”. Carla‘s BUTCHER BABIES bandmate Henry Flury posted: “Wow congrats you guys!!!!” VIXEN‘s Lorraine Lewis added: “Wow congrats!!! Yay!!” while former EXODUS/TESTAMENT and current THE CULT drummer John Tempesta commented: “Congratulations!! Love you both”.
