Former RATT drummer Bobby Blotzer has made his opinion clear when it comes to ex-bandmate Juan Croucier’s upcoming tour performing the band’s classics live
It would seem former RATT drummer Bobby Blotzer is holding on to some negative feelings toward his ex-bandmates, especially bassist Juan Croucier.
Croucier recently revealed plans for a run of dates this summer where he would be performing RATT‘s classic hits live to audiences in the United States, with more shows to be announced soon.
Earlier today (March 25), Blotzer posted the online flyer for Croucier‘s upcoming trek to his social media along with the caption: “Lofl my gif please god bring on the videos”.
After numerous people commented on the post, including former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent among others, Blotzer added in the comments section: “Is no Ratt except for what you get in the catalog now you’ll have members former members going out and playing their version of it which is OK but when you get the dancing Cuban bear, then you need popcorn and videos.”
He would also go on to add in a separate comment: “Also, one thing I have love for all the guys and Wrap their brothers but they’re some are goofy brothers wants a very destructive force. He instantly pulled that when we thought we were worn and Stephen brought him bag of 2012 I told them he’s gonna bloody shit up and break the band up a loss to see what’s going on so they have it. Maybe I’ll talk about this true story somebody or I’ll send them from my next book.”
In 2024, RATT singer Stephen Pearcy has scheduled performances to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the band‘s influential 1984 album, “Out of the Cellar.” The musician had aspirations for a complete RATT reunion, (without Crosby who passed away in June of 2002) but unfortunately, his former bandmates did not share the same level of enthusiasm.
“If you’re not into it, you’re not into it,” Pearcy recently explained. “I can only have respect for Warren [DeMartini], he doesn’t need to (reunite). None of these guys need to. I don’t need to. It’s just a matter of where your drive is, I guess. I have a different drive than my guys. And that’s where the buck stops. I can’t force them.”
Pearcy added that he respects his bandmates’ decision, but doesn’t understand it.
“Forty years later, you should be very fortunate. It doesn’t matter how deep your pockets are, it’s the integrity you have for what you created, what you were a part of. That’s what pisses me off,” he said. “Out of the Cellar is the most important thing that we’ve done. It should be respected. But it is what it is.”
RATT, a prominent rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 1976 by vocalist Pearcy. The band’s lineup went through several changes during its early years, eventually solidifying with Warren DeMartini on guitar, Robbin Crosby on guitar, Juan Croucier on bass, and Bobby Blotzer on drums. The band found its stride during the flourishing Sunset Strip and hair metal scene in the 1980s, gaining popularity with their energetic live performances and catchy, guitar-driven sound.
