Stephen Pearcy to Commemorate 40th Anniversary of RATT’s “Out Of The Cellar” with Special Performance
As the calendar inches closer to the new year, RATT‘s iconic frontman, Stephen Pearcy, is set to celebrate a significant milestone: the 40th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Out Of The Cellar.” To mark this special occasion, Pearcy and his solo band will perform the LP in its entirety on December 29 at the historic Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. Notably, this performance will be Stephen Pearcy‘s first time delivering the album from start to finish.
The celebration won’t be a one-time affair, as Stephen Pearcy and his solo band have exciting plans to continue performing “Out Of The Cellar” at all their shows scheduled for 2024. Fans can look forward to a nostalgic journey through RATT‘s breakthrough album, experiencing hits that have left an indelible mark on the rock music landscape.
“Out Of The Cellar” catapulted RATT onto the national stage in 1984, showcasing an irresistible hook and an unforgettable music video for lead single “Round And Round,” which soared to No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself reached No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 and achieved triple-platinum certification. Additional charting singles, including “Back For More” and “Wanted Man,” solidified RATT‘s position as a force to be reckoned with.
RATT continued their success in 1985 with the release of their second album, “Invasion Of Your Privacy.” This album, certified double platinum and reaching No. 7 on the Billboard 200, featured classics such as “Lay It Down” and “You’re In Love.”
“Detonator,” released in 1990, marked RATT‘s last full-length record of the Atlantic era. Despite changing musical landscapes, the album peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 and achieved gold status. Notably, “Detonator” was the first RATT album to incorporate significant outside songwriting contributions and featured notable guests like Jon Bon Jovi and Michael Schenker. The singles “Lovin’ You’s A Dirty Job” and the power ballad “Giving Yourself Away” solidified RATT‘s continued presence on the rock charts.
In 1991, RATT contributed the single “Nobody Rides For Free” to the soundtrack of the hit film “Point Break,” starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.
Fast forward to January 2021, and Pearcy expressed his openness to the idea of creating a new RATT album with all surviving members of the classic lineup, igniting hope among fans for more music from the iconic rock group.
