Death Metal icons AUTOPSY have released the brutal as hell new single “Throatsaw” via it’s official lyric video
AUTOPSY made a triumphant return with their album “Morbidity Triumphant” last year after a seven-year hiatus, and they’re wasting no time in delivering more. Brace yourselves for their upcoming release, “Ashes, Organs, Blood And Crypts,” scheduled for October 27th, and get a taste of the disgustingly thrilling experience with their new single “Throatsaw,” which is currently available for streaming. You can check it out below.
AUTOPSY drummer and vocalist Chris Reifert says of the track: “For this selection we have decided to cast aside musical acrobatics, high-brow labyrinthian showings off of scales, sweeps and noodlings, lush sonic passages and deep audio journeys rare and untold, egotistical trains of thought and neo-classical wizardry and well… just cut your fuckin’ throat wide open and giggle like cretins while the blood sprays in every direction. Doesn’t that sound like fun, kiddies?”
A mere year has passed since their previous release, yet the band is eager to unleash fresh music upon their fervent fans, embodying their relentless dedication to their craft.
Hot on the heels of “Morbidity Triumphant,” the distinguished U.S. death metal stalwarts embark on a new sonic voyage with “Ashes, Organs, Blood And Crypts.”
This chapter of their musical journey is characterized by savage bursts of riffing aggression, feral assaults, soul-crushing doom, and an unrelenting intensity that fractures skulls. Emerging from the depths of creativity, the band presents a macabre masterpiece designed by the seasoned collaborator Wes Benscoter (known for works with BLOODBATH and SLAYER). Driven by the album’s title, the band has given Wes the artistic freedom to conjure yet another nightmarish monument that encapsulates AUTOPSY‘s latest sonic creation.
In 2024, AUTOPSY is set to grace the stage at Candelabrum Fest in Mexico, as well as Mass Destruction and the Hell Is For Heroes festival, marking their notable appearances on the live circuit.
Esteemed as one of the longest-standing death metal acts active today, AUTOPSY originated in 1987, leaving an indelible mark on generations of fervent metal enthusiasts globally. The band released four albums through Peaceville Records, beginning with their iconic debut “Severed Survival” in 1989. Following a brief hiatus in 1995, during which members went on to form the equally unsettling ABSCESS, AUTOPSY resurfaced officially after a fifteen-year hiatus with the 2010 EP “The Tomb Within.”
This revival was promptly followed by their fifth studio album, “Macabre Eternal,” in 2011, igniting a new trail of ferocious creativity. With renewed determination, they embarked on a path to create some of the most twisted, uncompromising, and spine-chilling music to grace turntables. This prolific momentum has remained unwavering since their resurgence.
