Renowned singer, guitarist, writer, producer, and leader of the multi-platinum-selling rock band APRIL WINE, Myles Goodwyn, passed away earlier today at the age of 75

APRIL WINE, under Goodwyn‘s visionary leadership, became a powerhouse in the rock music scene, achieving immense success with over 10 million recordings sold worldwide. Goodwyn played a pivotal role in shaping and directing the band from its earliest days, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
In 2008, Myles Goodwyn faced a life-threatening situation, a consequence of years of alcohol abuse. He was hospitalized after collapsing on his way to a Quebec airport due to internal bleeding. This harrowing experience served as a turning point in his life, prompting a reevaluation of his priorities.
Despite the challenges, Goodwyn‘s contributions to music were recognized with APRIL WINE‘s induction into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 2010. His individual achievements include the prestigious East Coast Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 and the SOCAN National Achievement Award in 2002.
Myles Goodwyn‘s impact extended beyond the stage and recording studio. In 2016, he penned his memoir, “Just Between You And Me,” which quickly became a bestseller on the Globe And Mail’s Non-Fiction List. Earlier this year, Myles Goodwyn made the decision to step back from live performances with APRIL WINE. However, he continued to share his musical talents through live performances with his acoustic trio, featuring Jim Henman and Bruce Dixon, until recently.
