In celebration of their 25-year journey as a band, the iconic Swedish black metal group, WATAIN, is set to unveil a thrilling live album entitled “Die In Fire – Live In Hell (Agony And Ecstasy Over Stockholm)”
The LP is set to arrive on November 3 via Nuclear Blast Records.
After a quarter-century marked by madness and chaos, culminating in the creation of seven studio albums, WATAIN‘s electrifying and widely discussed live performances continue to stand alone as a unique experience. This live recording, captured during a sold-out show in Stockholm in October 2022, flawlessly captures the band’s raw intensity and fiery precision.
The album includes beloved tracks from their discography, spanning from “Casus Luciferi,” “Lawless Darkness,” “The Wild Hunt,” “Trident Wolf Eclipse,” to their latest masterpiece, “The Agony And Ecstasy Of Watain.” Additionally, they pay homage to the legendary BATHORY with their cover of “The Return Of Darkness And Evil.” The audio was meticulously recorded by Jamie Elton and skillfully mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio.
The album’s artwork is a creation of WATAIN‘s frontman, Erik Danielsson. “Die in Fire – Live In Hell” not only delivers an auditory spectacle but also offers a visual representation of WATAIN‘s touring journey for “The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain.” Beyond that, it serves as a token of gratitude to their dedicated global fanbase. This release is a deeply personal offering, dedicated to all those who have embraced WATAIN‘s lawless black metal odyssey over the past 25 years.
WATAIN has unveiled the first single from “Die In Fire – Live In Hell,” the epic “Before The Cataclysm (Live In Stockholm 2022),” accompanied by a music video directed by Johan Bååth.
To coincide with the album’s launch, WATAIN will perform two extraordinary anniversary shows at UKK in their hometown of Uppsala on Friday, November 3, and Saturday, November 4. Due to overwhelming demand, a second night was added, and a limited number of tickets are still available for this exceptional event.
