THE HALO EFFECT makes a triumphant return with their latest single, “The Defiant One”
Originating from the sessions for their debut album, “Days Of The Lost,” this track has become a staple in the band’s recent live performances. While details about the release date of THE HALO EFECT‘s second album remain undisclosed, “The Defiant One” serves as an enticing preview.
Vocalist Mikael Stanne shared insights about the track, stating: “So in order to hold you over before we present you with what we have written and recorded for the next album here is ‘The Defiant One‘. The video was shot at Pustervik, Gothenburg during our sold out tour of Sweden and it captures us in our hometown among some of our closest friends. Enjoy!”

Comprising former members of the renowned Swedish metal band IN FLAMES — Jesper Strömblad (guitar), Daniel Svensson (drums), Peter Iwers (bass), Niclas Engelin (guitar), and Mikael Stanne (vocals) — THE HALO EFFECT recently concluded the mixing phase of their second album, slated for an early 2024 release.
In May, the band treated fans to a visualizer for “Path Of Fierce Resistance,” a track previously exclusive to the Japanese release of “Days Of The Lost.” The song is now available worldwide.
The impact of “Days Of The Lost” was undeniable, securing the top position on the official chart in Sweden during its debut week in the summer of 2022. Notably, it marked the first time a metal debut LP claimed the No. 1 spot on the Swedish chart in its inaugural week. The album also achieved a commendable No. 6 ranking in Germany.
