In June, SLIPKNOT made headlines by introducing a new keyboardist to their lineup, just two weeks after announcing the departure of their long-standing member, Craig Jones. The band debuted their new addition at the Nova Rock festival in Austria on June 7, which coincided with the official announcement of Jones‘s departure via social media. Notably, the initial post regarding Jones‘s exit from the group was later removed, replaced by a photo unveiling the mysterious new member. This unidentified individual has since assumed the role behind the keyboards at the Nova Rock show and all subsequent tour dates, ushering in a new chapter for SLIPKNOT.

The departure of Craig Jones from SLIPKNOT was disclosed without a specific reason provided. Jones became part of the band’s lineup in early 1996, shortly after they had completed recording their demo album, “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” While initially stepping in as a replacement for Donnie Steele, one of the original guitarists, he soon transitioned into handling sampling and keyboards. Following the departure of drummer Joey Jordison in 2013, Craig Jones became the second-longest-serving member in the band, making his exit a significant development in SLIPKNOT‘s history.
