Ozzy Osbourne is apparently heartbroken that he won’t be playing the upcoming Power Trip festival
Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, the wife and daughter of legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, recently shared insights with Rolling Stone magazine regarding his recent decision to bow out of the upcoming Power Trip festival. This historic three-day extravaganza, scheduled for October 6, 7, and 8 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, is poised to unite six iconic bands that epitomize the world of thunderous and commanding music: GUNS N’ ROSES and IRON MAIDEN (headlining Friday, October 6), AC/DC and JUDAS PRIEST (taking the stage on Saturday, October 7), and METALLICA and TOOL (concluding the festivities on Sunday, October 8).
In July of this year, Ozzy made the difficult decision to cancel his appearance at Power Trip, citing his ongoing health concerns as the primary factor.
“We can’t talk about it in the house because it is just so heartbreaking to see that all he wants is just one more show,” Kelly told Rolling Stone.
“And Ozzy wants to be on that show with all his friends,” Sharon added. “It’s heartbreaking for him to see everybody going on, and he’s just left behind.”
“He could do it right now if he sat in a chair,” Kelly said, “because the voice is there; there’s nothing wrong with the voice.”
“But he won’t do it,” Sharon interjected.
“He said that if he can’t give his fans what they paid to see, he won’t do it,” Kelly offered. “There is nobody that loves their friends as much as Dad does.”
When Ozzy canceled his appearance at the upcoming festival, he said in a statement: “As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October.
“My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward. Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.
“Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support. I love you all and I will see you soon.

Ozzy‘s health, which included catching COVID-19 a year and a half ago, forced him to scrap some of his previously announced tours.
