During their recent performances at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, METALLICA established a remarkable attendance record
Their two headlining concerts, which took place on Friday, November 3, and Sunday, November 5, collectively drew in a staggering 100,000 attendees, marking the highest-ever attendance at this venue.
The Friday show, part of the band’s “M72” tour, featured additional acts such as PANTERA and MAMMOTH WVH. In contrast, Sunday’s event included performances by FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and ICE NINE KILLS.
Earlier today, METALLICA posted the following message to social media: “The #MetallicaFamily made history during #M72STL. Over 100,000 tickets were sold to our No Repeat Weekend gigs at The Dome, setting the record for most tickets sold for any event since the venue opened in 1995! Thanks for coming out to see us, St. Louis!”
The “M72” tour presents an innovative circular stage design that reimagines the renowned METALLICA Snake Pit, positioning it at the heart of the stage layout. This strategic shift allows organizers to distribute a higher number of tickets than the standard setup. Furthermore, the center of the band’s stage is hollow, providing even more room to accommodate fervent fans.
Per information from Billboard, METALLICA’s colossal ring-shaped stage boasts eight impressive towers of monitors and speakers. Each tower is securely anchored by an elevated platform, which also serves as VIP seating. These exclusive seating areas feature eight folding chairs, exquisitely adorned with the band’s new album, “72 Seasons,” black-and-yellow color scheme.
Beyond their sold-out show at the Dome, METALLICA seized the city of St. Louis with an array of fan-centric activities. The events included performances by various cover bands, a film festival about the band, a fully booked James Hetfield book signing, taste-testing opportunities for Blackened, METALLICA‘s whiskey brand, an exclusive pop-up store for the band’s merchandise, a METALLICA-themed bowling extravaganza, and a host of additional engaging experiences.
According to the Riverfront Times, METALLICA‘s concerts in St. Louis attracted an extensive and diverse fanbase, with attendees traveling from across the nation, representing states such as Kansas, Alaska, North Carolina, and Texas.
In late April, the “M72” tour had its debut in Amsterdam, marking the beginning of this exciting musical journey.
A significant portion of the concert proceeds contributes to METALLICA‘s All Within My Hands foundation. This charitable organization is dedicated to improving the lives of the communities that have steadfastly supported the band. The foundation’s initiatives encompass combating food insecurity, offering disaster relief, and granting scholarships to those in need.
