According to Billboard, MEGADETH’s new album, “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” has hit the number 3 position on the chart
The new effort from MEGADETH reportedly sold 48,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release, marking the band’s eighth top 10-charting album.
To break it down, the Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

MEGADETH has previously been in the top 10 of the Billboard chart with “Countdown to Extinction” (No. 2, 1992), “Youthanasia” (No. 4, 1994), “Cryptic Writings” (No. 10, 1997), “United Abominations” (No. 8, 2007), “Endgame” (No. 9, 2009), “Super Collider” (No. 6, 2013) and “Dystopia” (No. 3, 2016).
