Exciting news is on the horizon for KORN fans, as guitarist Brian “Head” Welch hinted at the release of new music from the iconic band in the upcoming year. Speaking in September, Welch shared the anticipated revelation, paving the way for a fresh musical chapter from KORN in the near future. Notably, the guitarist also hinted at a potential “celebration” to mark the 30th anniversary of KORN‘s debut album in 2024.

Welch‘s return to the fold in 2013 marked a significant moment in the band’s history. A decade ago, he rejoined the group, eight years after his initial departure. This return coincided with Welch‘s public declaration of overcoming addiction and embracing a born-again Christian lifestyle. His personal transformation added a layer of depth to KORN‘s narrative, showcasing resilience and growth within the band.

In a parallel narrative, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu underwent a highly publicized conversion experience, revealing a new direction in his life. However, in June 2021, Fieldy announced his decision to step away from KORN’s tour to address and “heal” from a relapse into some “bad habits.” SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Roberto “Ra” Díaz stepped in as Fieldy‘s replacement on the road.

Despite facing challenges and changes within the band, KORN released their latest album, “Requiem,” in February 2022. Produced by Chris Collier and KORN, the album soared to the top of Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart, claiming the No. 1 spot. “Requiem” also secured the No. 2 positions on the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, highlighting the band’s enduring popularity. Impressively, the album debuted at No. 14 on the all-format Billboard 200.

Notably absent from the band’s live performances for over two years, Fieldy did contribute to the creation of “Requiem.” Despite the physical distance, his musical presence resonated on the album, underscoring the collaborative nature of KORN‘s creative process.

With the promise of new music on the horizon and the potential celebration of KORN‘s debut album’s 30th anniversary in 2024, the band continues to evolve and captivate audiences.
