This year, former NIGHTWISH vocalist Tarja Turunen is ushering in the holiday season ahead of schedule with the launch of “Dark Christmas,” the sequel to her 2017 album, “From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)”
Employing the rich sound of a grand orchestra and the delightful harmonies of a children’s choir, the Finnish solo artist once again flawlessly melds her classically trained voice with haunting gothic undertones to craft a hauntingly cinematic soundtrack for the world’s most beloved Christmas melodies.
Featuring enchanting and spellbinding interpretations of well-loved Christmas classics such as WHAM!‘s “Last Christmas,” Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Paul McCartney‘s “Wonderful Christmastime,” as well as timeless favorites like “Jingle Bells,” “Frosty The Snowman,” and “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” along with Tarja‘s brand-new original composition, “Dark Christmas,” this album is a perfect choice for those seeking to embrace the holiday spirit while delving into the more enigmatic facets of the season.
