In honor of the 25th anniversary of STATIC-X’s groundbreaking debut album, “Wisconsin Death Trip,” the band has unveiled a trailer for their forthcoming documentary film, “Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, And Regeneration Of Static-X”

Accompanying the trailer’s release on YouTube, band members Tony Campos (bass), Ken Jay (drums), Koichi Fukuda (guitar), and Xer0 (vocals) penned a message commemorating the milestone. They wrote: “25 years ago today, STATIC-X unleashed ‘Wisconsin Death Trip‘ onto the world. On this very special anniversary, we would like to share a teaser for the first ever official STATIC-X documentary film titled ‘Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, And Regeneration Of Static-X‘.

“Thank you all for 25 years of amazing memories… So much more to come!”

While the identity of the band’s touring vocalist remains officially undisclosed, persistent rumors strongly suggest that Edsel Dope of DOPE is the enigmatic figure donning a mask resembling the late frontman Wayne Static. This mysterious presence has been seen performing alongside Tony Campos, Ken Jay, and Koichi Fukuda.

Static tragically passed away at the age of 48 after mixing Xanax and other prescription drugs with alcohol, as confirmed by the coroner’s report. The musician, born Wayne Richard Wells, was discovered deceased in his Landers, California residence on November 1, 2014.

Founding STATIC-X in 1994, Static propelled the band to commercial success with their breakthrough album “Wisconsin Death Trip,” which spawned the rock radio hit “Push It.” Despite their achievements, the group disbanded permanently in June 2013, with Static pursuing a solo career until his untimely death.

In July 2020, the group released “Project Regeneration Vol. 1,” the first of two volumes featuring 12 new tracks incorporating final vocal performances and musical compositions by Wayne Static. The album reunited the original “Wisconsin Death Trip” lineup of Campos, Jay, and Fukuda. Following up, “Project Regeneration: Vol. 2” hit shelves on January 26, 2024, comprising 14 fresh songs produced by Xer0 and mixed/mastered by longtime collaborator Ulrich Wild.
