DISTURBED singer David Draiman has lost more than 30 pounds within the last six months
The 50-year-old Draiman, who migrated to Miami, Florida in early 2022 after a stint in Honolulu, Hawaii for a few years, posted the following message, along with a shirtless selfie, to his social media yesterday (Tuesday, July 4): “180 lbs. Down 34 lbs since I started this whole thing in January. Haven’t been this weight since the mid 2000’s. In shape to kick everyone’s asses this summer @disturbed #takebackyourlifetour #cantstop #wontstop #downwiththefitness”.
As previously mentioned, DISTURBED had to cancel two shows during their recent European tour due to Draiman’s “vocal issues.”
In May, David underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from the radius in his right arm.
A month prior to that, Draiman confirmed the finalization of his divorce from his wife of 11 years, Lena Draiman.
Born on March 13, 1973, in Brooklyn, New York, Draiman grew up in a family with a strong musical background. He pursued his passion for music and developed his vocal skills from a young age.
In 1996, Draiman joined the newly formed band DISTURBED, which quickly gained attention with their unique blend of hard rock and heavy metal. Their debut album, “The Sickness,” was released in 2000 and achieved commercial success, establishing the group as a prominent force in the rock music scene.
Over the years, David‘s distinctive vocal style, characterized by powerful and melodic delivery, became a trademark of the band’s sound. The group went on to release several successful albums, including “Believe” (2002), “Ten Thousand Fists” (2005), and “Indestructible” (2008), each garnering critical acclaim and commercial triumph.
In addition to his work with DISTURBED, Draiman has engaged in various side projects and collaborations, including producing music for other artists. He has also been recognized for his philanthropic endeavors, particularly his advocacy for veterans and active-duty military personnel.
With his commanding stage presence and dynamic vocal abilities, David Draiman has solidified his position as one of the prominent figures in the world of rock music. His contributions as the frontman of DISTURBED have left an indelible mark on the genre, earning him a devoted fanbase and a respected reputation among his peers.
The latest album from DISTURBED, titled “Divisive,” was released in November of last year. It was recorded earlier that year in Nashville, Tennessee, with producer Drew Fulk (known for his work with MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, LIL PEEP, HIGHLY SUSPECT). According to Billboard, “Divisive” sold 26,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 22,000 units attributed to album sales.
