Corey recently concluded a series of successful tours across Europe and North America, showcasing his sophomore solo album, “CMF2.” Released on September 15, the album is Taylor‘s first under BMG and the inaugural release on his own label imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings. Produced by Jay Ruston, known for his work with iconic acts such as ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER, and AMON AMARTH, “CMF2” follows Taylor‘s 2020 solo debut, “CMFT.”
“CMF2” highlights Corey Taylor‘s diverse musical talents, featuring him not only as a vocalist but also as a multi-instrumentalist. Throughout the 13-track opus, Taylor takes on the roles of singer, lead and rhythm guitarist, pianist, and mandolin player, showcasing a remarkable range of skills. The journey to “CMF2” began early in January at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Taylor, alongside producer Jay Ruston, started tracking the album. The collaborative effort involved Taylor‘s dedicated solo band, including bassist Eliot Lorango, drummer Dustin Robert, and guitarists Christian Martucci and Zach Throne. The creative process resulted in the recording of a staggering 26 songs, with standout tracks like “Beyond” and “Post Traumatic Blues.”
