From 1994 to 1999, Blaze Bayley, now 60 years old, took the helm for IRON MAIDEN. The albums he contributed to, namely “The X Factor” and “Virtual XI,” experienced lower sales compared to the band’s previous works and marked their lowest-charting releases in the UK since 1981’s “Killers.”

Following his departure from IRON MAIDEN in 1999, Bayley embarked on a solo career, releasing numerous albums, some under the alias BLAZE and others under his own name. Notably, he featured on WOLFSBANE‘s 2012 album “Wolfsbane Saves The World,” the band’s first new material since their 1994 self-titled effort. A subsequent release, “Genius,” followed in 2022.

Blaze‘s most recent studio offering, “War Within Me,” hit the shelves in April 2021. The recording process took place in 2020, with Blaze dividing his work between his West Midlands home studio and Christopher Appleton‘s studio in Greater Manchester.
