Dutch symphonic metallers, WITHIN TEMPTATION, have announced their upcoming “Bleed Out” European headlining tour scheduled for the fall of 2024
This tour, in support of WITHIN TEMPTATION‘s forthcoming album, “Bleed Out,” promises to deliver a breathtaking experience for their fans.
Kicking off in October 2024, the tour’s U.K. leg commences in November at the Cardiff Utiliia Arena on October 15, followed by iconic venues such as London’s Wembley Arena on October 16, Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on October 18, and Leeds First Direct Arena on October 19. The journey continues across the rest of Europe, extending into December. Dedicated fans had the opportunity to secure their tickets through pre-sale, while the general sale began at 9 a.m. BST on Friday, October 6.
The “Bleed Out” 2024 tour marks WITHIN TEMPTATION‘s return to indoor venues after the successful “Worlds Collide” tour, where they co-headlined with EVANESCENCE. During this prior tour in autumn 2022, the band graced some of Europe’s largest and most renowned venues, including The O2 in London, Accorhotels Arena in Paris, and Ziggo Dome in the Netherlands. Just last month, WITHIN TEMPTATION released their latest single, “Ritual,” which serves as the focal point of their upcoming album, “Bleed Out,” set to be released on October 20. The album draws inspiration from the turbulent events occurring worldwide, including the tragic murder of Mahsa Amini in Iran and the ongoing war in Ukraine. However, even amidst these weighty themes, “Bleed Out” is not devoid of moments of light and hope.
WITHIN TEMPTATION vocalist Sharon Den Adel explains that the song “is one of the kinkiest songs the band have ever written and is fully inspired by ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’.” She is referring to the iconic movie by Quentin Tarantino about a seemingly normal road trip turning into a vampire slayer party. “It’s a fun track about seduction,” she explains. “It’s about the lady taking power in a male dominated world and taking her own initiative.”
“Bleed Out” represents a bold and significant step forward for WITHIN TEMPTATION. With a blend of contemporary, impactful, and djenty riffs, alongside soaring melodies that showcase their symphonic origins, WITHIN TEMPTATION has crafted a musical voyage that seamlessly melds diverse musical styles with thought-provoking themes. In light of the onset of the Ukraine war, WITHIN TEMPTATION has redirected its creative focus. The band has transitioned from exploring personal emotions and societal topics to confronting global injustices head-on. Through their music, they provide a profound reflection of the turbulent state of the world—a stance that sets them apart in an artistic landscape where many may hesitate or remain silent.
Den Adel states: “The war in Ukraine has influenced us a lot. As artists we are inspired by the world, and we have this platform. We are storytellers, and I think as human beings, these are things we should be talking about.”
Songs like “Wireless” and “We Go To War” delve into the themes of authoritarian aggression observed in Ukraine and various conflict zones. Meanwhile, the titular track, “Bleed Out,” takes on a different dimension, shedding light on the struggles of women advocating for their rights in Iran in the aftermath of the tragic murder of Mahsa Amini.
Den Adel explains, “I lived in Yemen when I was a kid. My parents lived in several countries in the Middle East, and I’ve visited them a lot when they were there. It’s a different world. Due to my time there, I feel connected to that part of the world. I’ve been so incredibly impressed by the bravery of the young women there who’ve been burning their scarves knowing they were going to be thrown in prison or worse. It’s heartbreaking.”
The album also confronts the intricate issues surrounding a woman’s right to choose, as exemplified in the recent single “Don’t Pray For Me.” Throughout the record, this passionate and political focus resonates within the music’s intensity and weightiness. As WITHIN TEMPTATION embarks on a new era of musical exploration and lyrical depth, they have boldly stretched their artistic boundaries. The result is a resounding declaration, both in terms of their moral principles and their unwavering commitment to fearless music-making.

“Bleed Out” will see a multi-format physical release and will be available on various streaming platforms. The album will be released under WITHIN TEMPTATION‘s own label, Force Music Recordings, in collaboration with Bertus Distribution for global distribution and Amped Distribution for the U.S. and Canada.
The band’s previous album, “Resist,” made its debut in February 2019 under the Spinefarm Records label, which specializes in hard rock and is part of Universal Music Group. “Resist” featured notable guest appearances from Jacoby Shaddix of PAPA ROACH, Anders Fridén of IN FLAMES, and Jasper Steverlinck of ARID.
