Wednesday 13 has announced a run of UK/European dates of his MURDERDOLLS celebration shows

Renowned horror-punk figure Wednesday 13 is set to embark on an exclusive UK and European tour later this year, commemorating the two-decade legacy of MURDERDOLLS, the band he co-established with Joey Jordison back in 2002.

The upcoming shows promise an immersive experience with setlists curated solely from MURDERDOLLS classics featured in their two studio albums, namely 2002’s “Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls” and 2010’s “Women And Children Last.”

Peruse the comprehensive list of tour dates provided below. Ticket sales commence this Friday, January 26, at 10 am UK time, accessible through the official Wednesday 13 website.

“After 22 years since its release, and the recent sad and premature passing of Joey, it only feels right to go out and celebrate these songs,” says Wednesday in a statement. “We made two amazing albums that I was very proud of, and unfortunately much of the world didn’t get a chance to hear the songs live. In 2018, we all got together at Joey’s house and discussed ideas and possibilities for the future, but we both had other immediate plans.

“After an amazing run through the US performing these songs, we will now take the tour where the band began, in the UK and Europe this October/November. We will be performing tracks from both Murderdolls albums and celebrating the legacy of the band. Joining us on a handful of dates in the UK will be Sweden’s rock n’ roll saviours, Hardcore Superstar, and we will join them as support throughout dates across Europe. We can’t wait to bring this tour to the UK and Europe later this year.”

MURDERDOLLS, a horror-punk band with a theatrical edge, emerged in 2002 as a collaboration between two prominent figures in the rock and metal scenes – Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison. The duo, both with extensive backgrounds in the music industry, joined forces to create a project that blended punk, glam, and metal influences with a macabre aesthetic.

Wednesday 13, known for his work in horror-punk acts like FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13, and SLIPKNOT‘s drummer Joey Jordison, decided to form MURDERDOLLS as a side project. The band’s lineup also included guitarist Acey Slade, bassist Eric Griffin, and drummer Ben Graves.

In 2002, MURDERDOLLS released their debut album, “Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls,” which showcased their energetic and darkly humorous approach to music. The album featured tracks like “Dead in Hollywood” and “Love at First Fright,” establishing the band’s niche in the horror-punk genre.

The MURDERDOLLS experienced a hiatus after the release of their debut album, as members pursued other projects and commitments. Wednesday 13, in particular, continued with his solo career while also engaging in various musical endeavors. Joey Jordison, being the drummer for SLIPKNOT, remained active with the multi-platinum-selling metal powerhouse.

The band resurfaced in 2010 with their second and latest album, “Women And Children Last.” This release further solidified MURDERDOLLS‘ status in the horror-punk realm, maintaining their signature blend of catchy hooks and dark lyrics.

Despite their initial success and the excitement surrounding their return, MURDERDOLLS once again entered a period of inactivity. The members went on to pursue different musical projects, and Joey Jordison, unfortunately, passed away in July 2021, marking a significant loss for the rock and metal community.

MURDERDOLLS‘ legacy endures through their influential contributions to the horror-punk genre and the memorable impact of their theatrical performances, even as the band remains dormant.
