Danish rockers VOLBEAT have officially embarked on the songwriting journey for their ninth studio album
Serving as the follow-up to their 2021 release “Servant Of The Mind,” this highly anticipated record is tentatively scheduled for a 2025 release.
In a recent video update shared by VOLBEAT members Michael Poulsen (vocals, guitar), Jon Larsen (drums), and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), Michael Poulsen announced, “We’re together again in the VOLBEAT rehearsal room, working on our fourth new song.”
In a caption accompanying the video message, the band wrote: “We’ve been busy writing new music….new album in 2025? #VOLBEAT2025”.
The band underwent a significant lineup change in June 2023 when longtime guitarist Rob Caggiano departed. Flemming C. Lund of the Danish extreme metal outfit THE ARCANE ORDER stepped in as his replacement for the group’s subsequent tour.
VOLBEAT debuted their new lineup on June 10, 2023, at the Rockfest festival in Hyvinkää, Finland, marking a new chapter in their musical journey.
Prior to Caggiano‘s departure, the band expressed gratitude for his contributions over the past decade, spanning four studio albums: “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” (2013), “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie” (2016), “Rewind, Replay, Rebound” (2019), and “Servant Of The Mind” (2021).
Meanwhile, Michael Poulsen has been involved in another musical endeavor, ASINHELL, whose debut album “Impii Hora” (Latin for “Ungodly Hour”) was released last September via Metal Blade. Poulsen collaborates with ex-MORGOTH singer Marc Grewe and RAUNCHY drummer Morten Toft Hansen in this project, showcasing his versatility and creative prowess beyond simply what he is known for.
VOLBEAT is a Danish metal band known for their unique blend of rock and roll, heavy metal, and rockabilly influences.
