Witness an exclusive, professionally filmed video capturing METALLICA’s groundbreaking performance of the song “Too Far Gone?” for the very first time

This momentous event took place during the second show of the North American leg of the band’s extraordinary “M72” world tour, held on August 6 at the iconic MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The video is available below, offering a glimpse into this historic occasion.

The extensive journey embarked upon in late April from Amsterdam marks the foundation of the “M72” tour’s concept. This distinctive tour features two consecutive nights of electrifying performances in each city it visits. The captivating twist of the “No Repeat Weekend” showcases entirely distinct setlists and support lineups for each night. The tour introduces a revolutionary in-the-round stage design that repositions the legendary METALLICA Snake Pit to center stage. It also introduces the “I Disappear” full-tour pass and introduces special discounts for fans under the age of 16.

The exhilarating second East Rutherford show launched with the resounding echoes of “Whiplash” from METALLICA‘s inaugural album “Kill ‘Em All,” released in 1983. The band’s formidable 16-song setlist encompassed three fresh compositions from their latest masterpiece “72 Seasons.” These include “Lux Æterna,” “You Must Burn!” and the aforementioned “Too Far Gone?“.

The “M72” tour, a tribute to “72 Seasons,” orchestrates a series of two-night engagements across cities worldwide, a schedule that extends until 2024. Enriching this experience are the “takeover” events during weekends in pivotal locations such as New York City, Montreal, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, St. Louis, and Detroit. These events promise film festivals, pop-up stores, Ross Halfin book signings, performances by tribute bands, special guest appearances, and more, all contributing to a vibrant tapestry of engagement.

A recent two-night performance held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, unfolded in a pioneering manner, streaming live to theaters around the globe. This remarkable feat signified METALLICA‘s triumphant return to Texas since November 2021. It marked a momentous occasion where the band performed around a Triad Combat event at Globe Life Field. This performance followed METALLICA‘s previous appearance at AT&T Stadium in June 2017.

Acclaimed by Rolling Stone as a display of “some of the deepest, hardest-hitting music of their career,” METALLICA‘s “72 Seasons” was unveiled on April 14 via their own Blackened Recordings. With Greg Fidelman at the helm of production, alongside frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, this 12-track opus spans over 77 minutes. “72 Seasons” stands as METALLICA‘s premier full-length compilation of fresh compositions since 2016’s “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct.”
