Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, along with their children, Jack and Kelly, have unveiled the ninth episode of their reinvigorated podcast where they discuss late guitarist Randy Rhoads

In this episode, they engaged in a conversation centered around what is often referred to as former OZZY OSBOURNE bassist Bob Daisley‘s “Holy Grail” — specifically, Bob‘s rehearsal tapes featuring the original “Blizzard Of Ozz” band with the late guitarist Randy Rhoads on guitar.

Jack proposed that the decision to release these recordings should rest with Randy‘s family, and in response, Sharon remarked:  “Exactly.” Ozzy the revealed a more practical reason for why those tapes have not been made available to the public, saying: “The quality sucks. The quality is fucking dreadful.” Sharon agreed, saying: “[It was recorded] on a little cassette machine — on a tiny little cassette machine. And yeah, it’s not for us to do anything with.”

In March 2014, to coincide with the 32nd anniversary of Rhoads‘s passing, Bob Daisley shared online some snippets from the extensive seven-hour audio recordings he had captured during the creative process, rehearsals, and recording sessions for Ozzy‘s seminal first two solo albums, “Blizzard Of Ozz” from 1980 and “Diary Of A Madman” from 1981.

Daisley previously revealed that he had “hours and hours of tapes” from the recording sessions, adding, “You can hear the songs changing, the different parts taking shape, and all this stuff would have been perfect bonus material for the box set. Sadly, the Osbournes are just too greedy and self-absorbed.”

On March 19, 1982, a tragic incident claimed the lives of Randy Rhoads and two other individuals. They were on board a small plane flying over Flying Baron Estates in Leesburg, Florida, when the aircraft collided with Ozzy‘s tour bus before crashing into a mansion. Randy Rhoads was just 25 years old at the time.

In subsequent reissues of “Blizzard Of Ozz” and “Diary Of A Madman,” both bassist Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake had their contributions removed and replaced with new recordings performed by METALLICA‘s Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE‘s Mike Bordin. This change resulted from a dispute with Sharon Osbourne concerning royalties. However, their original contributions were reinstated for the 30th-anniversary editions of the albums.

Daisley explains that he and Kerslake were let go due to a series of disagreements with Sharon Osbourne.
