A Los Angeles street performer who had his drum kit stolen was gifted a brand new one by the members of METALLICA.
The drummer, named Sheriff Drumman, is known for playing drums from the bed of his truck, which was also stolen from in front of his Hawthorne apartment in December. Drumman (great name) did eventually get his truck back, however the drums were never returned to him.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Sheriff spent almost six years creating his infamous kit, even hand-crafting the metal that made the setup possible.
After the theft hit the news, METALLICA swooped in to help with a brand, spankin’ new drum kit for the Hollywood musician Tuesday night.
“Man, thank you guys so much,” the artist born Anthony Eugene Sheriff said, according to NBC Los Angeles. “Thank you for taking the time and the resources to support and help what I do. I love you for that.”
In response, METALLICA tweeted: “We’re honored to be able to help out a fellow artist. Keep the music going, Sheriff Drumman!”
