There has been a lot of speculation on who MEGADETH’s new mystery bassist might be with TESTAMENT bassist Steve Di Giorgio taking the forefront.
On July 12th, MEGADETH vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine recorded a Cameo video which quickly made the rounds online. In it, MEGADETH’s current mystery bassist was obscured by a chair, but their bass guitar was not. When studying the model of said bass, it has lead to a great number of fans guessing that Di Giorgio has been tapped to take over for the departed David Ellefson on the band’s forthcoming album.
Ellefson was fired from MEGADETH this past May after several videos of him engaging in virtual sexual activity with a young female fan were leaked online. He has since been seeking revenge porn related charges against the individual who leaked the videos.
In addition to his firing, Ellefson‘s previously recorded bass tracks on MEGADETH’s forthcoming studio album were also scrapped.
Mustaine recently told radio station KCAL-FM of the band’s plans:
“…We’re gonna have someone coming in in a couple of weeks to replace the bass tracks that we had. Which should be relatively quick because the person we’re talking to is a stellar bass player. And hopefully this will be an ongoing thing after the recording. Or we will find someone prior to the recording that will be our permanent guy going forward.”
Steve DiGiorgio sería el bajista que grabó lo próximo de Megadeth.
