MAX CAVALERA Releasing Second Studio Album, ‘Unhealthy Mechanisms’ This Fall

Max Cavalera’s GO AHEAD AND DIE project are set to release their second studio album “Unhealthy Mechanisms” this October

GO AHEAD AND DIE, the musical collaboration featuring vocalist and guitarist Max Cavalera (known for his work with SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SEPULTURA) and his son, singer, guitarist, and bass player Igor Amadeus Cavalera, is gearing up to release their second album titled “Unhealthy Mechanisms.” This highly anticipated sophomore release is scheduled to drop on October 20 through Nuclear Blast Records. The upcoming album delves deep into the band’s dystopian repertoire, exploring the chaos of society and the mental pollution that corrodes our thoughts.

Offering listeners a sneak peek into the album’s essence, the single “Tumors” has been unveiled. This headbang-worthy track serves as a direct rebuke to those toxic figures in life who betray and undermine, much like life’s “tumors” that, if left unchecked, can evolve into cancerous forces. The accompanying animated video for the song, crafted by the talented Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu, can be enjoyed below.

Max comments: “The new G.A.A.D. is on its way! More brutal, feral, extreme, and intense than ever before! The album goes in a deep dive into the mental health subject and it’s produced by Igor A! It’s by far the most anarchist record I’ve ever been a part of in my entire career!”

Igor Amadeus Cavalera states: “I’m so excited to release this monster of a record! This album will take you through the darkened madness of declining mental health. It is definitely the heaviest record I’ve ever created, and I can’t wait to unleash it on the masses! G.A.A.D.!”

Taking the reins as producer for “Unhealthy Mechanisms,” Igor Amadeus Cavalera orchestrated the album’s creation, while the recording process took place at John Aquilino‘s Platinum Underground Studio, nestled in the mystic aura of the Superstition Mountains’ foothills. The task of mixing and mastering was once again entrusted to Arthur Rizk (known for his work with CAVALERA, SOULFLY, and TURNSTILE). To visually capture the album’s thematic essence, the band collaborated with Santiago Jaramillo of Triple Seis Design, who skillfully designed artwork that perfectly aligns with the unsettling album title.

The latest opus from GO AHEAD AND DIE stands as a powerful testament to the deteriorating state of global mental well-being, a poignant reminder that our struggles are shared across the world. With minds adrift and the fuse ignited, the time has come to ignite a conflagration that consumes all.
