Former MEGADETH members David Ellefson (bass), Jeff Young (guitar) and Chris Poland (guitar) are set to perform “a very special set of thrash classics” at this year’s “Days Of The Dead” horror convention.
The event will take place November 18-20 at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois.
Given the affectionate moniker “Days Of The Deth“, the former MEGADETH members will perform on Saturday, November 19 which will be open to anyone with a “Days Of The Dead” ticket. If you’re one of those fortunate enough to have yourself a V.I.P. pass, well you get access earlier than the “normies” do.
Ellefson and Young recently reunited on stage on May 10 at Ultimate Jam Night at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California, as part of a special tribute to the “Big Four” of 80s thrash metal.
The Whisky A Go Go event happened four months after Ellefson and Young connected in L.A. to conduct interviews and tell stories to be included in the upcoming feature-length documentary “This Was My Life: The Story Of Nick Menza“. Ellefson is a co-producer of the film about the late MEGADETH drummer, and also provides narration.
Chris Poland was a member of MEGADETH from 1984 to 1987, performing on such MEGADETH albums as “Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!” and “Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?” He also made an appearance on MEGADETH‘s 2004 album, “The System Has Failed“.
David Ellefson was in MEGADETH from the band’s inception in 1983 to 2002, and then again from 2010 until 2021 after that whole Twitter fiasco with a young female fan.
Jeff Young‘s career with MEGADETH was spent recording and touring in support of the band’s 1988 release “So Far, So Good…So What!”
