AEROSMITH has revealed the rescheduled itinerary for their “Peace Out” farewell tour, marking a significant return for fans eagerly awaiting their legendary performances
Commencing on September 20th at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the tour will retrace its steps, including a notable stop at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the band kicked off the original run last year. This 41-date journey will culminate on February 26, 2025, at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Joining them once again for this memorable ride will be THE BLACK CROWES, who have recently launched their latest album, “Happiness Bastards.”
The genesis of this rescheduled tour stemmed from a setback in September 2023 when singer Steven Tyler encountered vocal cord damage, prompting the band to postpone the original “Peace Out” dates. This decision followed a previous postponement of six shows to allow Tyler ample time for recovery.
When AEROSMITH announced the tour postponement, the band said in a statement: : “To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven‘s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.
“He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled ‘Peace Out’ shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.”
Tyler said in an accompanying statement: “I am heartbroken to not be out there with AEROSMITH, my brothers and the incredible BLACK CROWES, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”
The inaugural “Peace Out” tour debuted on September 2, 2023, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where AEROSMITH delivered a powerful 18-song set, featuring classics like “Back In The Saddle” and a stirring rendition of FLEETWOOD MAC‘s “Stop Messin’ Around,” culminating in a memorable encore of “Dream On” and “Walk This Way.”
Presented by Live Nation, the initial 40-date North American tour was set to grace arenas across the United States and Canada, including prestigious venues like Los Angeles’s Kia Forum, New York’s Madison Square Garden, and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The tour also boasted a special New Year’s Eve performance in their hometown of Boston, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of AEROSMITH‘s five-decade musical journey.
Originally slated to conclude on January 26, 2024, in Montreal, the “Peace Out” tour features special guests THE BLACK CROWES for its entirety, enhancing the experience for fans celebrating AEROSMITH‘s illustrious career.
Preceding the launch of “Peace Out,” AEROSMITH captivated audiences with their acclaimed Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Prior to that, they made a triumphant return to Boston for a historic show at Fenway Park as part of their 50th-anniversary celebrations, drawing in a record-breaking crowd of over 38,700 attendees.
In May 2022, AEROSMITH made headlines with the announcement of Steven Tyler‘s entry into a treatment program following a relapse, prompting a temporary halt to their Las Vegas residency.
